Kennedy Elder is a female commercial dancer that works and trains professionally in Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Heels, Tap, and Jazz Funk.
Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at the age of 17, Kennedy moved to Toronto to attend George Brown’s ballet and modern performance studies program. She successfully graduated the program with honours while also recieving the ‘Modern dancer’ award and the ‘Overall dancer’ award.
After graduating, Kennedy wanted to expand her repertoire. She found her way to Dark Dance company where her journey in commercial dance began. She trained in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz & Jazz funk with various choreographers and teachers from the Toronto dance industry. Under their guidance, Elder got the opportunity to perform with Feist, at varies corporate events, and company productions where she was featured as a lead actor and dancer. Once completing her time with Dark, Kennedy was hungry to keep expanding her craft. She started to train in heels with Army of Sass and Urbanesque. This opened up a whole new world of opportunities. Kennedy had the opportunity to be the lead in a production of Nightmare Before Christmas, dance and work with Robin Anton, and perform with Keri Hilson in different cities in Canada and the United States.
Kennedy has become a revered dancer and choreographer in the Canadian dance industry. Not only is she one of the leading dancers and choreographers in the Toronto dance community, she is also known as an award winning teacher and choreographer in the competitive dance scene right across Canada. Kennedy’s choreography and direction has even led to medal placing routines with World Performers Canada.
Elder is the proud Director and lead choreographer/teacher for 306 Elite Dance Company. 306 is a western youth dance company geared towards guiding the dancers of tomorrow’s industry. Her company is known for their power, professionalism, diversity and success displayed in each performance or creation they are a part of.
Kennedy is actively involved in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz Funk, Heels and Tap throughout the Canadian dance industry. She is proudly represented by Jessica Cvitkovic at 10 Talent Management.
